Post New forum layout
I've been looking for some new forum software that has a calendar to allow you, the users, to link your upcoming rides and events to a date in the calendar. That way with a glance at the calendar, you can see any rides that are being organized. There is a mod for the current software that I am using but it does not work with the newer version and they seem to be dragging their feet on getting it ported up to the new version.

So, I found other forum software that already has this built in. I am currently looking at what theme or style, whatever you want to call it for the site. I found one that I kinda like. The biggest issue with it is that it's designed for a car themed site and the buttons have little cars on them. I may be able to find replacement button to fix that.

Please go to my test forum and see what you think. You can sign as with user "Test" and password "test" or register your own name if you want. Play around with it (especially the calendar part) and let me know what you think. If you don't like something or something doesn't work, let me know. You won't hurt my feelings. I'm not sure I'm totally sold on it yet myself.

Also you can go here an browse other themes to see if you see something else you would like better, if you do, let me know and we'll throw that out to see if it sticks.

The link is just to a test forum so don't put any meaning posts there. When/if I change it, this one will be converted over and the test one will be removed.

This is still the official PARK forum for now.

So are you having trouble with all of the colors on the calendar or just the dates where it shows the holidays? I did notice that the color used where the holidays are noted is extremely hard to read. May be able to change that. The rest seems OK to me.

Just the colors on the dates. Sorry I did't explain myself ever well. I like the rest.

Not getting many opinions. Does that mean nobody really cares, or just want it left like it is.

You deal with people all the time . Most will only say something when they can complain. HA HA I like it but till I use it some who knows. A old moodie like me will like something one day not the next. Still learning to use this one and this one is simple ( user friendly to me). A lot of a upgrade really is on you because you run admin. If this up grade will make it job better for you then by all means go for it . Most of us just like to chat ,look and read about the projects.Just in my family along we have 8 motorcycles road ready we just go out and ride stop and eat then ride some more. Till I found this I just rode .I don't know any of you guys but hope to get to I don't do poker runs any more. Did them as the safty rider for a club for 10 years. These days to many chashes on the runs because 3 out of 5 riders don't know how to ride in a group or just showing off.Sorry got off the subject. :easy:

I started with the current software because it was clean, simple, and easy to personalize. The admin part is really no big deal once it's all set up. It's not about what's easiest for me. I intend for the site to be what you guys want. The main reason I am looking at changing software is for the calendar function. I thought it would be good to have so that you can go to the calendar and at a glance, see if anyone has scheduled a ride for a certain date. But, it may not be worth the trade off if there are a bunch of other things about the new software that we do not like. That's why I did the test site, so you guys could play around with the new one and let me know the likes vs. dislikes. I don't want it to me just my decision since I consider the site to belong to all of you.
